Nickel magazine is an international publication that was founded by the Nickel Development Institute
(NiDI) in 1984. It is now published by the Nickel Institute.
The objective of the magazine is to inform readers of the special properties and advantages (economic and
environmental) that nickel and its alloys bring to thousands of applications worldwide. The wide variety of
primary industry sectors in which nickel is used today include: architecture, automotive, chemical process,
electrical & electronics, energy, food & beverage and water treatment and distribution.
Information is provided in the magazine on up-coming conferences and seminars related to the application of
nickel-containing materials.
Nickel Magazine Online is presented in English, French, German, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese and Russian.
The magazine contains no paid advertisements.
Circulation
As of October, 2005 circulation of the print edition of the magazine totalled 25,000 in 95
countries. Readers are typically engineers, architects and people who specify the materials to be used in
various products. These people are interested in staying informed of the latest developments in the
application of nickel. Roughly one-third of our readers are located in North America, one-third in Europe and
one-third in Australasia.
Subscriptions
Nickel magazine is available free of charge in digital format. All articles are published online (in
HTML format) and, as of October 2002, can also be downloaded free of charge in portable document format (PDF)
to be read off-line at your leisure. Digital subscribers are informed by e-mail as soon as an article has
